"All my family and children were going school and did not attend school properly; we had a terrible life for moving out. We cannot move freely like before."

In the 1990's Kuki and Nagas clashed. The outbreak of ethnic violence began over the control of the Moreh area and spread to the rest of the state. Not only deaths but huge and permanent displacements of populations of the two communities resulted from it.
