Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Master Excel Formulas with the Powerful Formula Tooltip.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this episode, we're going to be talking about a handy feature in Excel called the Formula Tooltip. As we all know, working with large amounts of data can be overwhelming, but fear not, because the Formula Tooltip is here to make your life easier.

But first, a quick update - I'll be heading out to Microsoft next week to get a sneak peek at the new Excel 2010. Now, onto the Formula Tooltip. This feature was first introduced in Excel 2003 and it's been a game-changer ever since. When you click inside a cell that contains a function, the Formula Tooltip appears. But what if it's in the way? No problem - simply click and drag the tooltip to a different location. And here's a pro tip - if you need help understanding how a function works, just hover over the function name in the tooltip and click on it to access the help section.

This great tip was sent in by Paul Leonard, and it's just one of the many ways the Formula Tooltip can make your Excel experience smoother. So if there's anything else that's been driving you crazy about Excel, don't hesitate to let me know and I'll make sure to bring it up with the team at Microsoft. And for those of you wondering what I'll be able to share about Excel 2010, let's just say we'll have to come up with a secret code system - maybe a wink with my right eye will mean they're bringing back the old menus.
