Charitie Giovanna Peterson, age 47, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2020. She was born on April 17, 1973 in Brookhaven, New York and is survived by her mother Jiovanna and sister Christel.

I wanted to write something about my sister, a eulogy of sorts since there will be no wake or funeral.

I loved my sister so much and there was nothing I wouldn’t do for her. Even though we lived in different states when we were together I felt home.
Charitie had so many different jobs through the years and we even worked together when, we were in our early 20’s, I stayed with her in Beaufort, SC. We would work just to make sure we had money for beer and the beach. She loved the beach and the water. She was always at peace at the beach.
Her last job was at Airtran Airlines where she was a customer service rep and she so good at her job. She would get compliment letters, who gets compliment letters as a customer service person for an airline, no one is ever happy when they call in but she did.
She loved animals especially dogs. If anyone knew her they knew she was a dog lover. Animals brought her so much joy.
After being diagnosed with CNS non-hodgkin's lymphoma in 2012 she was no longer able to work.
This is when she became active in her church. She worked on making quilts for the homeless, shopping for the food pantry, volunteering for Sunday school and anything she could do to help out.
She was having a hard time the last few years of her life and came to stay with me in California. I’m so grateful for the time we got to share in LA. When I was not longer able to care for her our mother came and they went to Italy for what we hoped would be a short time and she would come back when she was feeling better.

Her final two years were spent in Calabria, Italy where our mom took care of her and I’m glad I visited as often as I did.

She was so loved and she will be missed.
