in December 2025, it makes its closest approach to Earth, though still a safe distance of over 270 million kilometers (1.8 AU), offering a final chance for advanced telescopes to study it. The most critical event on its escape route is a close flyby of Jupiter in March 2026, where it will pass within approximately 53.6 million kilometers of the gas giant. Once past Jupiter, 3I/ATLAS will cross the orbits of the remaining gas giants (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune). As it moves beyond the Kuiper Belt and eventually the Oort Cloud, the Sun's influence will wane.
