In this video we're comparing mythology from two iconic Mesoamerican civilisations, Aztec vs Maya. From the treacherous Mictlan ruled by the Aztec god of the dead, Mictlantecuhtli to the Mayan Mitnal which was presided over by 12 death gods. We have also explained the mythological reasoning behind their rituals of sacrifice.
