This is the most widely used fork architecture by Honda on their motorcycles in the mid-'60s to the late '70s. To call out a few models specifically, the Honda CB175K7 / CL175K7 / CB200 / CL200 / CB360 / CL360 / CJ360 / CB500T / CB550K / CB550F / and most CB750 families of motorcycles use this fork architecture. In this guide, we cover the rebuild process from start to finish to show how simple these forks can be to rebuild to refresh your front suspension. Its important to know more than just how to drive a new seal into the fork leg, so we cover how to remove the forks from your motorcycle, how to break the stubborn Allen bolt on the bottom free to disassemble the fork, how to inspect the fork tubes for damage and pitting, how to install both EZ fork seals and standard fork seals, and how to reassemble everything. If you have a model of Honda motorcycle that uses this fork architecture but isn't listed in the compatibility, you can also use these instructions to rebuild your forks. Be sure to check your Honda service manual for motorcycle-specific details like how much fork oil and torque specs.
