Ingredients:

Main Ingredients:

1 small glass Moong Dal

1 small glass Govind Bhog or Basmati Rice

8–10 small glasses hot water

1 medium-sized cauliflower, cut into pieces

3 medium-sized potatoes, cut into pieces

½ cup cashews

½ cup green peas

Mustard oil for frying


Paste:

2-inch piece of ginger, finely chopped

4–5 green chilies

2 teaspoons cumin seeds


Tomato Base:

3 tomatoes, pureed or made into a paste


Whole Spices:

½ teaspoon cumin seeds

¼ teaspoon asafoetida (hing)

3 green cardamoms

3 cloves

2 bay leaves, broken into pieces

2 dried red chilies (mildly spicy)

2 small pieces cinnamon stick


Powder Spices:

2 teaspoons or to taste salt

1.5 teaspoons turmeric powder

2 teaspoons coriander powder

1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder (adjust to taste)


To Add at the End:

½ teaspoon garam masala powder

1 teaspoon ghee

1 teaspoon sugar
