Sometimes, I look at contracts and marvel at the jargon. In some cases, they absolutely mostly make sense and sometimes make very little ‘no sense’...

Or ask for permission to do something that conflicts with the contract’s terms.

✅ This is my litmus test for negotiation.

Sometimes, a music publisher will use a contract template yet verbally disagree with s!@# within it

aaaand months later, sometimes the same day, that contract changes
