It is our responsibility to develop the next generation of well-rounded leaders, and one of the best ways to do that is by embracing diversity, especially in STEM education. By being inclusive we allow everyone to contribute their creativity, their ideas, and their experiences.

Having overcome the challenges of impostor syndrome when she attended a summer medical academy with very few minorities, Keilly Santos came to realize that as stewards of diversity we should make everyone feel safe and accepted, and to know that they belong. As she reminds us, those who do not encourage or promote a diverse community are missing out on the beauty that diversity has to offer. Keilly is a student at Hoover High School.
