Chennai metro rail has requested a consulting agency to prepare a feasibility study on velachery tambaram metro rail route

Earlier, the agency prepared a feasibility report on the same tambaram velachery metro route but did not move further..

Now, chennai metro rail has requested to prepare a report extending the route to guindy or little mount near saidapet.

This route is expected to pass through areas like velachery, pallikaranai,medavakkam,selaiyur and tambaram.

It is in medavakkam, chennai metro corridor 5 route also passes by. So, when implemented this route would connect metro 5 corridor at medavakkam and also as this route is expected to conclude by tambaram, it will also connect chennai airport kilambakkam metro rail route extension
