Pigeon Hunting - Browning Maxus vs Beretta Silver Pigeon in England.

This summer I went to England together with two friends for some pigeon hunting. Because of the Corona virus we didn't even know if we were able to go into the UK. One week before departure they cancelt the quarantine measures. So we where good to go. One night at the ferry and a short drive from Hull near Boston and we arrived at Jeremy's place. At 11 we were all set to go in the hide.

Unfortunately, we couldn't get the paperwork in order for the guns. So we had to use the guns from Jeremy. The first day was a bummer. Not enough pigeons and I couldn't hit anything with the Browning Maxus. The second day I had a perfect spot at a rapeseed stubble. But the Maxus was not working for me. After checking the choke, I noticed that it was a skeet choke. That's why I didn't hit anything. Then I got the Beretta Silver Pigeon from Jeremy. The safe was always on fire with a piece of tape and you couldn't switch barrels. But at least this one had half and three quarter choke. After switching to the Beretta, I shot really well. But it was already late and the pigeons dried out. This could have bee a red letter day (125+). If I had my own gun or at least the Beretta from the start.

This was the first time I worked with the Enforcer decoys. They are perfectly painted and worked superb. Definitely the best pigeon decoys at the market. After this trip I immediately ordered 10 full and 20 shell decoys at Jachtloods.
