This is how Stardust and Goldust split up. In February 2015, Stardust and Goldust began showing signs of tension between them. On Smackdown, they faced Dolph Ziggler and Ryback. Goldust started calling for Stardust, when he didn’t respond, he called him Cody, who then got angry, tagged him in and abandoned the match. Then Ryback hit Goldust with the Shell Shocked to win the match. On Raw, Goldust called him Cody again, who then pushed him and told him Cody’s dead. Next week, Dusty Rhodes returned to solve the problem and the Cody persona agreed. Then they faced The New Day. Kofi Kingston hit Goldust with the trouble in paradise to win the match. The Stardust persona took over and used Cody’s old finisher on Goldust. Stardust told Dusty that he and Goldust put pressure on Cody since young age and now Cody and his own family are dead to him. On Smackdown, Goldust promised to vanquish Stardust and reclaim his brother. At Fastlane, Dusty told Goldust not to hurt Cody. Then they had a match, where Goldust won. Then Stardust attacked him and told Dusty that his mental decline was his family’s fault. On Smackdown, Stardust took out Goldust, breaking up the team entirely.
