Split Urad and Chana Dal mix Recipe

Wash both dal and boil in 1/2 litter water in a cooker with salt and turmeric for approx. 10 minutes.

Prepare for tadka/masala by heating up ghee in a pan and then adding onion, ginger, garlic and green chilli and tomato one by one after some time. Cook the tadka/masala for some time and then add coriander, red chilli and garam masala(mixture of spices).
Add some more water from boiled dal once the tadka masala is cooked well.
Add the boiled dal to the same pan and let it simmer for few more minutes and then turn the gas off and its ready to be served.


Urad and Chana mix Dal Ingredients

Urad Dal (Split) - 1 small bowl
Chana Dal - 1/2 small bowl
1 medium size onion
1 small tomato
4 Garlic cloves
1 inch Ginger
2 Green Chillis
Coriander leaves -20 g
Turmeric powder – 1 tea spoon
Salt – as per taste
Garam Masala – 1 tea spoon
Ghee - 1 tea spoon
Water (for boiling dal) – 600 ml
