Financial investment allows for individuals to build their wealth and ensure financial security. In this talk, neuroscientist and author Dr. Daniel Krawczyk reveals how our brain can impact investment and provides valuable tips on how you can become a better investor. Daniel Krawczyk is a Professor of Behavioral and Brain Sciences and holds the Francis Chair in Brain Health at The University of Texas at Dallas. He is also a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He authored the book Reasoning: The Neuroscience of How We Think in 2017, a comprehensive guide to research on human reasoning. He also co-authored a forthcoming book called Understanding Behavioral BIA$ with financial manager George Baxter, a guide to improving financial decisions. His research is focused on understanding reasoning and decision making through a multi-disciplinary approach that combines brain imaging, cognitivepsychology, and studies of individuals who have sustained brain injuries. He has investigated the brain basis of reasoning both healthy people and individuals with disorders including dementia, brain injury, and autism spectrum disorders. He has led multiple Department of Defense-funded research studies evaluating people’s improvements in thinking and cognitive performance. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles and was a Ruth L. Kirschstein Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.
