This is part of the interior of a Pompeian domus, preserved with a combination of original ancient masonry and modern reinforcement. The walls, built in opus incertum (irregular stonework set in mortar), are framed with modern blue-painted supports to stabilise the ancient structure. Above the stonework, faint traces of painted plaster survive, hinting at the once richly decorated interiors with their geometric borders and rich colour schemes.

A fluted column stands partially preserved, its lower section still retaining traces of the original stucco surface. Such columns typically supported the peristyle roof around an open courtyard, allowing light and air into the house. The floor retains Roman paving with visible water channels or drainage cuts, suggesting this area may have been connected to the atrium or peristyle garden, where water features served both practical and decorative purposes.

At the centre of the view is a small round marble table supported by sculpted legs in the form of animal paws and heads, a type of furnishing common in elite Pompeian homes for displaying vessels or ornaments. Beyond it, another room reveals vivid wall paintings, offering a glimpse into the colourful artistry and refined domestic life that once characterised this home before the eruption of AD 79.
