In the wake of the ASI's survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid, authorities have implemented heightened security measures across Sambhal. The increased police presence aims to maintain public order during the overlapping periods of the mosque survey and the Holi festival, ensuring communal harmony and preventing potential unrest.

1. Arrest of Mosque Committee President:
Zafar Ali, the president of the managing committee of Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police. The police claim he played an incendiary role during the violence that erupted on November 24, 2024, during a survey of the mosque. He was arrested following a formal investigation and interrogation at the Kotwali police station.

2. Judicial Inquiry Commission:
The Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a three-member judicial inquiry commission to probe the stone-pelting incident that occurred during the survey. The commission is headed by a retired Allahabad High Court judge, Justice Devendra Kumar Arora, along with retired IAS officer Amit Mohan Prasad and retired IPS officer Arvind Kumar Jain.

3. High Court Designation of "Disputed Structure":
The Allahabad High Court has referred to the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal as a "disputed structure". This decision came after hearing a plea by Hindu plaintiffs who argue that the mosque was built on the site of a demolished Hindu temple, Harihar Mandir.
