Bass Player Mark Andes and his remarkable bass playing on this 1968 Hit from Psychadelic Band, Spirit. I could not locate any tab or anything for this song so I transcribed it myself from scratch. The bassline here is AS PLAYED on the recording, however finger style--while Mark Andes played his Fender Precision with a plectrum. I recorded this to show the bassline played finger style.
Note! My brilliant guitar luthier, Luigi Spezzacatena of southern Italy switched the standard capacitor of this bass to an original used, vintage Zenith capacitor from between 1955 and 1959!!! And this was done, of course, at my request. And, what an awesome tone from this bass--yes--the tone is more 'vintage' ! So this set-up is for me, better than the standard capacitor!
Bass in video is a new Fender Precision Classic 50's Series Made in Mexico still fitted with original
Fender roundwound strings and playing through a small 60 watt Marshall B25 MkII amplifier.
