Search & Rescue Training Scenario - 4K

NOT A REAL EMERGENCY - This drill was conducted in a controlled environment with instructors standing by. The scenario was planned IRR freshmen in the Principles of Emergency Management class and run by the sophomores in the Advanced Care for EMT class. Learning objectives included good patient care, assessment, starting an IV with dextrose solution for the diabetic patient, and patient safe extraction by a rope system. Dextrose and saline IVs are an EMT level skill in Nebraska with additional training. IRR prepares students for a career in EMS, Emergency Management, or Global Health or Development using hands on training scenarios because we believe that's how are students learn best.
