Having a Baby in the South West Acute Hospital

Expectant mums planning to deliver at the South West Acute Hospital can now watch this tour of the hospital’s maternity suite. This video clip will give parents a preview of the maternity facilities before the birth of their baby, to help them become familiar with the place where they plan to have their baby and know what care and support they will receive before, during and immediately after the birth. The clip features essential information for any pregnant woman preparing for labour including: access to the maternity unit, birth choices including the birthing pool, pain relief and the neonatal intensive care unit. Information is presented and narrated by members of the midwifery team.
