Macky Den (18 yrs) and Thomas Turner (16 yrs) live in Eugowra. When the water hit on November 14, 2022 they sprang into action to rescue around 30 people. First on Macky's ute, then they grabbed a tipper truck, before getting hold of a fire truck! They are just two of many, many local heroes, but the fact that they are so young, wise and humble make this one of the most incredible stories to come out of the Eugowra disaster. Inspiring and heart-warming.
