The Met Office has issued a weather warning for strong wind covering London as Storm Amy hits the country packing predicted gusts up to 100mph.
The yellow warning comes into effect at midnight and runs through to 7pm on Saturday.
Forecasters warn of potential damage to buildings, power cuts, road closures and a “danger to life” from falling debris.
It is one of six weather warnings blanketing the whole of the UK
The first named storm of the season has prompted weather warnings throughout the country for heavy rain and strong winds of up to 100mph on Friday.
