Using the Asset Catalog you can quickly convert a small image into an image that will stretch to any size for varying button widths.

This technique is a great thing to know when you customize your app's user interface.

The Asset Catalog is on the left side of Xcode in the Project Navigator and is called Images.xcassets

You can drag and drop images into the asset catalog or you can import them from your Xcode project.

Warning: Don't add images to the Asset Catalog if you're using Cocos2d, it won't work right. I had that issue in Bomb Dodge: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/prote...
