How To Prevent a Cressi Dive Knife From Rusting (& other diving knives from rusting)!

I show how to prevent a Cressi Dive Knife from rusting. This method of stopping a dive knife from rusting can be used on other dive knives as well. Cressi dive knifes like the Cressi Scorpion and Cressi Borg are economical, functional, and look awesome. That makes Cressi diving knifes some of the best diving knifes available. But they are notorious for rusting at the base of the blade and guard. The Cressi Scorpion blade was made with stainless steel 304 and are now being manufactured with stainless steel 420. The blades themselves are not necessarily the problem as you rarely see the blade itself rusting when properly maintained. It is the other parts of the Cressi knives that rust as they are probably not made with the same stainless steel. I found a method of stopping rust on my Cressi dive knife that does not change the look of the knife, that is low cost, and takes only a few minutes. You still need to wash off the knife in fresh water after using it (as soon as possible) and allow it to dry. But you do not need to oil your dive knife. You do not need to use messy petroleum jelly on your dive knife. And you do not need to carry around a can of WD-40 in your suitcase when travelling with your dive knife/diving gear! Using this method to stop rust and corrosion on your knife means you don't have to pay up for a titanium blade on your dive knife. If you use your knife for spear fishing or working on a boat, this method of rustproofing and corrosion prevention will also fill in the gaps between the blade and the handle. This will prevent blood, guts, dirt, and bacteria from settling in that gap.
