Since the 2018 Farm Bill became effective, the USDA has been struggling to finalize hemp rules which has caused confusion within the industry for years. Recently, the USDA finalized the hemp rules bringing much needed clarification to the industry. Nonetheless, the industry still has many challenges, including but not limited to, oversaturation of businesses and lack of product differentiation, challenges obtaining banking and payment processing services, and strict marketing policies on major platforms.
