Exploding head syndrome (EHS) is a sleep disorder characterized by the perception of loud, sudden noises or explosions inside the head, often accompanied by fear or panic. It is classified as a parasomnia, a type of sleep disorder. The cause of EHS is unknown, but it is believed to be related to dysfunction of the reticular formation in the brainstem responsible for transition between waking and sleeping.

There is no evidence to suggest that dogs can experience EHS. However, dogs can experience sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and REM behavior disorder. If you suspect that your dog is experiencing any sleep-related issues, it is best to consult a veterinarian.
