Holloway Pubs: Surprising historic pubs in a rough part of London

After last week's foray to tourist hotspot Leicester Square I thought for contrast I'd go to a part of London tourists never visit: Holloway. I theorised this would be a part of London the big pubcos have just leave well alone, and there might be some hidden gems of historic pubs.

Along the way we delve into some history about these pubs and the local area. Including the forgotten cricketing history of the Prince Edward, some pondering over which Prince Edward it was named for, a quick glimpse into the state of the redevelopment of Holloway Prison, a look at not just one but two impressive late 1930s cinemas on Holloway Road, Mr Enkel: a vain landowner who named a pub after himself, a shopping centre named after a pub, the forgotten coaching inn past of the Owl & Hitchhiker, and what exactly is a Holloway cheesecake?
