This video is Part 3 of analytical separations and in this video Ion Exchange Chromatography has been discussed. In this chromatography type, Resin material act as a stationary phase. On the surface of this resin, cationic and anionic groups are covalently attached having terminal replaceable anions and cations respectively. The cations and anions are replaced depending on the firmness of their attachment with that of stationary phase. Moreover selectivity factor of different ions and composition of some commercially available resins (stationary phase) are also discussed.
