Any baby, which is born less than 38 weeks we will call it as pre-term baby even in this again, those who are born at the variety of maturity like 35 – 38 weeks they are called as late pre-term babies and babies who are born before that belong to pre-maturity/pre-term category.

Babies who are born less than 1kg or 26 – 28 weeks by the nature they have born, they will be having difficulty in breathing in which assistance is given through ventilator or CPAP or other non-invasive type of ventilation.
