Schindler 3300 Mark 1 MRL lifts. Neat little lifts they are, and they have some interesting chime tricks much like the Mark 2 that came after them. But what exactly are these tricks? Is there more to the timeline of the Mark 1 3300 that can be discovered through these chime tricks? Well that is what this two part mini-series is going to explore!

Part 1 is here on your screen right now and in this video I show you both known chime tricks and how to make them work. One of them is very simple - just spam the call button. The other one however, not so simple as it will only work under a certain set of circumstances. This one uses the inside floor buttons and can only ever play the Up Chime sound for unknown reasons.

The call button spamming chime trick only works on older Mark 1 3300s, which hints at a potential logic update part-way through the lifespan of the Mark 1 being available. But if this is the case, when did this update occur, and is there any other changes that occurred around the same time that can provide helpful hints at if a 3300 is pre-update or post-update? This is what Part 2 will go into as much detail as possible on, so be sure to stick around for that. For now though, enjoy seeing these tricks, and maybe try out some of these on lifts near you!

TO HELP ME MAKE PART 2 AS GOOD AS IT CAN BE:
I want to hear in the comments specifically regarding the outside chime trick - if you tried it, did the lift do it? Whether the answer to that is yes or no, was it a high pitch chime or lower pitch chime? What voice did it have if it has/had one? What is the serial number? Do you have a video of the lift/can you find a link to a video of it so I can hear it myself and see what the lift looks like? All this knowledge can help increase the data available for me for making Part 2 in the future! The serial number will help me roughly figure out what year a lift was installed through referencing ones I know the years of, and the voice may help establish another link. A video of the lift itself will show me some aesthetic things which I believe may be a link as well, or is at least interesting to note anyway.
