Nissei rigid vertical series meets high precision grinding with diamond and CBN wheels, which has been increasing more in recent years, and various automation methods such as robot transfer for labor-saving operation.

In the rotary carrier grinding method, work pockets are evenly spaced on a carrier plate, the carrier plate is rotated at a constant speed to feed workpieces into the grinding wheels, and grinding stock is removed while the workpieces pass between upper and lower grinding wheels. As workpieces are continuously fed through the grinding wheels, this is a highly productive grinding process. In the carrier-oscillation grinding method, the carrier plate rotates back and forth inside the grinding wheels, while the upper grinding wheel infeeds to the target thickness position. This method enables single-pass grinding with higher-precision results of workpieces with relatively large stock removal. These machine models can use either rotary carrier or carrier-oscillation methods by changeover.
