Nervous System 11, Brain areas

Описание к видео Nervous System 11, Brain areas

Some areas of the brain have specalised, dedicated functions. This means if that part of the brain is damaged, the function is lost. For example, a tumour or abscess can compress a brain area, resulting in neurological defect. More commonly an area can be infarcted by thromboembolism, or traumatised with a head injury. However, after loss of an area of brain, the person is still there. This indicates many areas of the brain are association areas, they may or may not have specific functions, but all parts of the brain contribute to the totality of the generation of awareness and personhood.
