Sinful To Flirt- Empty Bottle String Band @ Gate City, VA 10/4/2014

Have you ever noticed how the guy in the old-time murder/suicide ballads always seem to be a "Willie"? Usually when the young woman in an old-time ballad rejects a proposal of marriage her "Willie" throws her in the river but in this case Willie took to the cold water of the millrace himself with fatal consequences. I am actually quite touched with sadness every time I listen to this song.

The Empty Bottle String Band is a three year old Old-Time/Americana band comprised of current and former students in the ETSU Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country Music Studies Program. Performing here were:
