Making A Router Sled Live Edge Flattening Jig

In this video I made a router sled which is a flattening jig for live edge slabs. As wood dries, it often warps and bends in odd ways. To get it flat again you need a live edge flattening jig or a huge planer.

Planers can have their own issues sometimes. So a router sled it was for me.

I ordered the parts online and waited anxiously for two weeks for it to arrive. Finally everything was all here together and assembly could begin.

It took me some time to get this all together because I had no idea what screws I needed. There was no information on the listing where I purchased the parts.

Finally I got it all working and ran an oak slab through it. This was a slab I had sawn on my mill at home a year or two ago.

It turned out quite pretty. Those of you who watch to the end will see the final product.
