ARRIVE Together Program:
This program teams up police officers with mental health specialists to improve how law enforcement handles 911 calls involving people in crisis or those who need mental health support. By using different strategies based on community needs, ARRIVE Together has helped reduce arrests, injuries, and the use of force, while eliminating racial disparities in mental health outcomes. The program started in December 2021 and now covers all of New Jersey, impacting about half of the state's population. In Monmouth County, local police and mental health professionals from RWJBarnabas Health are working together on this initiative, with plans to expand further.

MCPO Link 2 Care Referral and Follow-Up Program:
Link 2 Care allows Monmouth County police officers to refer people who might need mental health help, even before a crisis occurs. This program connects individuals with specialists from CPC Integrated Health and the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County for treatment and support. Notably, about 30% of early referrals have been for seniors, leading to the creation of a special Resource Card to help older adults with mental health issues or cognitive decline. These materials are being distributed to senior centers and police departments across the county.

MCPO ReStart Diversion Program:
ReStart is designed to divert non-violent, low-level offenders from jail into mental health treatment. These individuals, who are believed to have committed offenses due to mental health issues, are screened before joining the program. If accepted, they plead guilty and agree to participate in supervised treatment instead of going to jail, giving them a chance to "restart" their lives.
