How to trim a horse's tail

If you have ever wanted to trim your horse's tail, but you weren't sure how to go about it, this has been created for you!

I found the most incredible tool to use to be able to trim a tail without worrying about using clippers or scissors. It was designed for trimming whiskers, BUT it works great for trimming tails too!

This horse shaver has many different names, depending on where you find it for sale. The one I bought was called win by a nose, but they have the same whisker razor for sale at Dover Saddlery for $1.99. It is good for about 6 to 8 uses, and after that the blade gets dull, so just throw it away at that point.

When I was trimming my horse's tail, I only took the hair away from the sides and along the interior of his tail. I did not remove any hairs from the top. I wanted to remove the bushiness from the top of his tail without taking any hair from the top.

Once I finished trimming the top of his tail, I had m husband help me so I could bang the bottom. This is when you just cut across the bottom to give a straight line appearance.

I think it turned out very nice!
