Supported Internships – What they are and how they work?

Описание к видео Supported Internships – What they are and how they work?

Supported internships are a structured, work-based study programme for 16 to 24-year-olds with SEND, who have an education, health and care (EHC) plan. The core aim of a supported internship study programme is a substantial work placement, facilitated by the support of an expert job coach. The internships provide the opportunity for young people to achieve sustained, paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace.

In this video you can hear from Leeds City College and Lighthouse Futures Trust. They explain what a supported internship is, how they work and how to find out more. This video was recorded on Tuesday 26 June 2024 during the SEND Next Choices event at the Leeds arena.
