'Aashray Paalna Sthal Yojana' was introduced in Rajasthan to install cradles at all the Govt hospitals to receive infants, abandoned by their parents. Reportedly total of 65 cradles were set up initially. In the Year 2015-2016, 35 babies including 25 girls were found in these cradles. A subsequent record reveals that 77 newborn babies including 47 girl children in the period, March 2016
to October2017, were found in these cradles. The objective of the cradle scheme is to prevent unsafe abandonment and illegal adoption of children.
