SaMASZ Insights #5 - 300% cutterbar protection

The SaMASZ PerfectCUT Cutterbar is well protected - they call it 300% protection. The cutterbar itself is made from 6mm steel, and it is fully protected by replaceable wear parts.
They have the skid plate (which can be swapped out for topping plates if you want) and then a wear plate under that, then the cutterbar - these two plates combined measure 8mm thick, so along the thickness of the cutterbar at that point, it's 12mm of steel protecting the oil inside.
Most mowers would have replaceable skid plates, but some don't have the replaceable wear plate in between, so the cutterbar itself is is exposed between the skid plates.
Other options have the replaceable wear plate, but it's in one big piece rather than individual section like the SaMASZ one, so a lot more costly to replace if needed.
This design feature provides brilliant protection for the cutterbar, and helps the SaMASZ mowers last longer by being able to replace parts on the cutterbar rather than replacing the whole cutterbar itself.
