After more than 10 years of construction, the schooner christened the SV Ruth was finally launched into Carlisle Bay, Barbados on December 6th, 2014. This ship will ply between the islands of the eastern Caribbean transporting fruits and vegetables like schooners did in their heyday. It will also serve as a platform for sailing and seamanship training.
