New NPS partial withdrawal rules from Feb 1, 2024.

New rules in respect of withdrawals from NPS is expected to kick in from February 1, 2024.

Under the new rules, the subscribers can withdraw up to 25% of their contribution from their pension accounts, excluding the employers contributions.

You are permitted to do these partial withdrawals for the higher education expenses or marriage expenses of your children; for purchase or construction of any residential accommodation; for any specified medical needs; or for any expenses related to your skill development; or for establishing any venture or startup of your own.

You can do these partial withdrawals after a minimum of 3 years of joining the NPS scheme, and you can do a maximum of three partial withdrawals during the entire tenure of your NPS.
