Woodturning - What do you do when you have too many pen blanks?

I bought a big box full of random pen blanks a little while ago. Now, I do make a lot of pens, but this box was full to the brim and I’m running out of storage space. So, I come up with this idea. A checkerboard pattern with Oakfield Clear resin. I used two different blue pigment powders in the resin to get this particular colour. The wood is from a range of species and includes Mallee Burl, Western Red Cedar, Tiger Myrtle and a number of others. There is a range of colours and grain patterns in the wood.

The platter is approximately 38cm in diameter and 3cm deep.

I use a WL-46A lathe from Hare and Forbes Machinery House along with a variety of chisels from different manufacturers.
