CBR TEASER: Chris Pratt Reveals Parks and Recreation Inspiration for The Garfield Movie Voice

Chris Pratt takes on the iconic role of the titular feline in the new animated film The Garfield Movie. While it was Pratt's natural speaking voice that was wanted for the character, the actor has shared how he called back to Parks and Recreation for inspiration.


Ahead of the U.S. release of The Garfield Movie, Pratt spoke about the film in a new interview with CBR's Kevin Polowy. He explained how he didn't have to spend too much time preparing for the role, as the first choice for the part, Pratt was instructed by director Mark Dindal to use his natural speaking voice. With Garfield's delivery, however, Pratt imagined speaking as his Parks and Recreation character, Andy Dwyer, but with the laziness and sarcasm much more amplified.
