Frida Kahlo: Making Herself Up at the V & A

Описание к видео Frida Kahlo: Making Herself Up at the V & A

Who was Frida Kahlo and why has she become one of the most loved artists of the 20th Century? In this film The Art Channel attempts to answer those questions by visiting the Victoria and Albert Museum to see an exhibition comprising over 200 objects discovered inside a sealed room long after her death. Struggling with poor health for most of her life, Kahlo used her body as an armature on which to build an identity blending femininity with masculinity,Indigenous Mexican culture with her European heritage. In the paintings, she created a unique visual language in which she examined her life and experience. Kahlo continues to inspire artists, designers and makers today.
