IRCTC has quietly shifted the location of the ‘No Food’ Option from Premium trains.

Earlier, if you didn’t want the overpriced meals served in Rajdhani, you could select ‘No Food’ in the main section, and catering charges would be reduced.

You cannot to do that EASILY any more.


To make the process cumbersome and possibly cheat unsuspecting customers, IRCTC has shifted the ‘No Food’ Option near the Preferences section, and now passengers need to check “I don’t want Food/Beverages” option to save money.

The option to remove food is only available on the new version of the IRCTC App, not the old version.

This begs the question, if IRCTC could remove the No Food Option from the main section on the Old app, why didn’t they add it back near preferences?
