What is Cambridge without history?
Trimester || has officially begun and we had a great first day at school. Meeting friends we saw since March.
After lectures, we checked out some places around Campus and we saw this Fitzwilliam museum.
It was a 19minutes walk and admission is free.
They were currently having an exhibition show(Islanders and we were given tickets to go watch it)
Food and drinks aren’t allowed in the museum. To have a total view of the museum, it would take like 2-3 hours. It had 2 floors and on each were collections of artworks handed over to the university of Cambridge by Viscount Fitzwilliam.
The museum opened in 1816 and it cares for over half a million artifacts and art from around the world- from Egyptian coffins to illuminated manuscripts, rare coins to paintings by Italian masters, ancient pottery to suits of shiny armour.
It is said to be one of the best museums in the United Kingdom.

Great gifts can be found in the courtyard shop and delicious refreshments in the courtyard cafe.
It’s a beautiful museum and we had a good time there.
