Um documentário sobre os costumes e o fazer artístico e cultural dos ciganos Calon, no município de Sousa, estado da Paraíba. (Média Metragem)

O documentário foi realizado através da Lei Aldir Blanc do Governo da Paraíba, depois de ter sido contemplado no Edital Severino Ramos de Oliveira (Prêmio Parrá), como um projeto que propôs um intercâmbio Cultural in loco em Comunidade nos ranchos de ciganos locais, para uma troca de experiências com a professora, coreógrafa e bailarina Andréa Monteiro.

Intercâmbio Cigano – Um Encontro de Experiências em Comunidade Cigana”, trata-se de um filme cujo propósito é para que o público, ao assisti-lo, possa melhor compreender essa realidade social tão enriquecedora em sua cultura. “Acreditamos e almejamos que o filme venha a ser um elo divisor de águas, aproximando as pessoas e proporcionando a nossa própria aproximação”, diz a bailarina e diretora Andréa Monteiro.
Que seja um grito na garganta e um apelo para que olhem com carinho e atenção esse povo milenar. Que o filme seja a voz que grita por eles: ‘Olhem para nós! Não nos esqueça! Estamos aqui fazendo arte! Somos um povo alegre e necessitamos de reconhecimento, de respeito e cumprimento dos nossos direitos assegurados.

About the movie


A documentary about the customs and artistic and cultural work of the Calon gypsies, in the municipality of Sousa, state of Paraíba. (Average Size)

The documentary was made through the Aldir Blanc Law of the Government of Paraíba, after being contemplated in the Edital Severino Ramos de Oliveira (Prêmio Parrá), as a project that proposed an in loco Cultural exchange in Community in the local gypsy ranches, for a exchange of experiences with the teacher, choreographer and dancer Andréa Monteiro.

Intercâmbio Cigano – An Encounter of Experiences in the Gypsy Community”, it is a film whose purpose is so that the public, when watching it, can better understand this social reality so enriching in its culture. “We believe and aim for the film to become a watershed link, bringing people together and bringing us closer together”, says dancer and director Andréa Monteiro.
May it be a cry in the throat and an appeal to look with affection and attention to these millennial people. May the film be the voice that cries out for them: ‘Look at us! Don't forget us! We are here making art! We are a happy people and we need recognition, respect and fulfillment of our guaranteed rights.
