The EASYFRUIT project has worked in the development of an active packaging in order to extend the shelf-life of the orange and pineapple for nine and twelve days respectively from the seven days that nowadays is achieved by fruit companies.

The consortium is based on a group of 4 SMEs, PRODUCTOS LANDIA (Spain), SLICE FRUIT (Denmark), SPEKTAR (Serbia), OMNIFORM (Belgium)- 2 research centers: the Packaging Transport & Logistics Research Center – ITENE (Spain), NOFIMA (Norway)- an a large enterprise, CENTROS COMERCIALES CARREFOUR (Spain).

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement nº 315565.
