FISHING IN ST LUCIA SOUTH AFRICA - Catching Spanish Mackerel on Vyfster

Today we have a special one for you guys! We spent 5 day in St Lucia in South Africa an I just had to get on the water! So I spoke to a few mates who put me in contact with the best charter operator in town.

Barend, the owner of Wavedancer charters, took me on his 7m Cat called Vyfster. Despite the massive seas we managed to get through off the beach. The fishing was pretty steady with the first Mackerel coming on board in the first hour! What an awesome fight these fish put up, from peeling line to swimming straight at you!

We managed a couple of good fish before making the call to head back in! Lucky we did as the wind picked up and the swell got bigger. We quickly got to the back line and waited for the biggest wave to folllow in! What an experience!
