How to make a pop-up card with an articulating arm. Using the wheel mechanism, you will learn how to anchor and cap the hub to create pivot points strips of card stock. The example demonstrated is the arm of a backhoe which swings around in a scooping motion. You will see how to create joints on the arm and then anchoring the bucket to a turning wheel. The circular movement of the pivoting bucket combined with the arch of the arm's joints makes the mechanism interesting to watch. Once you know how this card is made, you will be able to imagine your crafted images moving across the page using these techniques.
