Comparing the Recording King RK-35 and the RK-75 Elite

Описание к видео Comparing the Recording King RK-35 and the RK-75 Elite

Both banjos perform wonderfully. Please don't try to read anything into any of my facial gestures or body language. Since it was all unrehearsed I spent a lot of time wondering what I should have said. I was also worried that I was spending too much time praising one instrument or the other.

They really are both great banjos. I love the look of the RK-75, but I prefer the tone of my RK-35. I'm also a lot more comfortable with mine, but I've also been playing it for 6 months.

Also, as with any recording like this there are limits to my camera as well as limits to what you might be listening to. You can tell there are differences, but I'm convinced that the biggest difference I'm hearing when I'm playing them has more to do with setup than anything else. I can hear the difference in the maple and mahogany, but the RK-75 was set up really bright. It's a good sounding banjo, and I'm sure I could tweak it to my own setup preference. It would take me a while to adapt to the scale length. I know a lot of folks might not notice the difference right off, but I felt pretty clumsy on it.

Does this answer any questions? Probably not, but it was fun comparing the two. :)
